Volunteer Intro #Part1

Hi I’m Marie,

I volunteer because….

In 2020, during the pandemic, I wanted to give back to the community and found an opportunity at Trafford North Foodbank.

Having lived in Trafford all my life (Stretford, Old Trafford, and Urmston), I began volunteering in August 2020, supporting an amazing team every week on my non-working day.

I enjoy the variety of support I can provide, mainly working in the warehouse sorting donations and preparing food parcels. However, I also occasionally support my team with food collections, deliveries to clients, and food drives.

I am always happy to help wherever I am needed.

 

Volunteering gives me a strong sense of community spirit, working alongside others who share the goal of making a positive difference and offering hope.

No one should have to struggle to afford essentials, yet the rising cost of living continues to impact people’s wellbeing and mental health. Until foodbanks are no longer needed, I will continue to volunteer,
